The Need of Latin American Pastors

Many pastors in Latin America have never had access to seminary training and rely on books for developing their understanding of Scripture.

Books are needed that would provide both a fundamental biblical preparation and would be found suitable for working pastors. These are in short supply. A Bible commentary would need to interpret and explain the Bible in familiar language, using colloquial metaphors, and give practical applications that fit the Latin American culture. A commentary like this would greatly benefit the education of Lay pastors and the people in their churches.

SIM's Vision

A one volume Biblical Commentary by Latin American authors, written in a clear and accessible style, that will serve the people of God, including their leaders; pastors; lay leaders and students in all of Latin America even in its most remote regions.

SIM's Plan to Help

A commentary on the whole Bible written by Latin American theologians for the churches in Central and South America.

Christian theologians from the region will bring the best of biblical scholarship into service of the local church to enhance preaching, teaching and application of God’s word.

Produced in both Spanish and Portuguese the commentary will use local metaphors and imagery written for the lay person to understand.

We are also partnering with many theological institutions and theological groups to provide this valuable resource for the Body of Christ in Latin America.
