The LABC Marches On

Written by Joel Purcell

The production of this significant work for the whole of Latin America is going ahead on schedule in spite of all kinds of obstacles.  This is a massive undertaking of over 90 individual contributors who are doing outstanding work both in Portuguese and in Spanish.  Please pray that the Lord would provide the finances needed for this project.  We have over 75% of the amount needed but some generous support is still necessary.  These types of global and strategic projects are a challenge to manage but by God's grace this one is advancing on time and with great enthusiasm?

Four Conferences in Burkina Faso

Written by Joel Purcell

A total of 3,000 participants attended four conferences in Burkina Faso during the first two weeks of November.  One of the leaders said this about the conferences:  "The participants have been overwhelmed-good teaching in the conferences and great resources.  They are very thankful."

Conference in Senegal

Written by Joel Purcell

The Christian population in Senegal is quite small.  The Muslim faith has made huge inroads in the last 100 years.  The books in the set on reaching Muslims will be very helpful for the pastors and church leaders in this country.  There were 300 sets distributed in Dakar on October 25-28.

Packing Books in France

Written by Joel Purcell

I am in France with a 5-person mission team packing books for the Francophone PBS project.  Listen to what one team member wrote:

"Another wonderful, productive day!  It was a drizzly, gray day, perfect for packing boxes.  Are you sitting down?  Because you need to be for this.  Crazy Americans always want to measure what we've done, and so we took a few minutes to estimate this afternoon.  Each pallet weighs approximately one ton, and holds between 64 and 80 boxes (the set is in two boxes).  We estimate each box, when filled, weighs 20 pounds.  Each packing line does approximately 5 pallets, and we will have worked 6 full days by the time we leave.  If all that is somewhere close, we will have picked up, packed, stuffed, placed on pallets and moved 60 tons of books.  And that is a drop in the bucket, compared to the total project.  I feel very tired, just writing that.  But very joyous!"
