Impact of Pastor Book Sets

Just another note about my visit to Ghana last month:

At one point during the conference, our leader mentioned the strategic value of the Pastors' Book Set project.  He asked the crowd of some 40 plus pastors from the region how many of them had received book sets in the past.  I watched as immediately half of the African pastors raised their hands and then, after a slight pause while English was translated into French, the other half of the pastors raised their hands.  At some point during my time at the conference, nearly all of the African pastors approached me to thank me for our ministry with PBS and to encourage me to keep going in the work.  I value their words.

Travels to Ghana

Last month I had the great joy of returning to Ghana for a SIM meeting of mission and church leaders from through West Africa, Europe and the US.  I was impressed with the flamboyance and love of life that the Ghanaians express so freely.  The conference was good and we sang praises in English and French.  We also heard great preaching from several global leaders.  I was able to have meetings each day with the different country leaders to answer their questions about the Francophone PBS conferences that will take place in Africa soon.

Book Shipment Date

We are looking to ship the books around the 15th of May, which means that Pastor Conferences should be able to start in approximately 6 months from that date.  This is very exciting!  Please continue to pray for funding as we have made the first 50% payment for the cost of the books, but are still in need of funds to complete the second portion.

Plans are Coming Together

This is an exciting time!  Almost all of the books for the Francophone PBS are purchased.  I am also very pleased to announce the inclusion of a children's book entitled The Jesus Storybook Bible in the set.  This will be a wonderful tool for the pastors to use with the little ones in their churches.  By the end of March, the books sets are scheduled to ship from our warehouse to Africa.  Lastly, I will be attending a conference in Ghana next month where I will be able to visit with leadership and discuss the final coordination plans for the 2011 Francophone PBS Conferences.  Praise the Lord for his many blessings!

More Books for the Francophone PBS

Great News to share!  Randy Alcorn has given one of his books for the project and another donation has been received to include a second of Randy's books.  We also just received word that a second John Piper book entitled The Dangerous Duty of Delight will be given as well.  Finally, Grudem's Systematic Theology will also be included in the set.  We got a great price for this significant work.
